* The dumpster/container shall not block the traffic lane. There must be sufficient space for emergency vehicles to pass (Fire Department has the right to deny any location). Only upon special provisions will the City allow blocking traffic lanes. * The dumpster/container shall not be placed within fifty (50) feet from an intersection or alley in order to maintain sight distance. * The dumpster/container shall not be placed within ten (15) feet of a fire hydrant, within any 'fire lane', within a 'no parking zone', within five (5) feet of a neighboring curb cut. * No dumpsters/containers will be permitted in the sidewalk area. Only upon special provisions will use of sidewalks be allowed. * Boards must be placed under the dumpster/container to protect the road surface. Any damage to the road surface will be the responsibility of the applicant to have repaired at no cost to the City of Puyallup. * Dumpsters shall be covered when not in use to prevent debris from blowing onto right-of-way. The City right-of-way surrounding the dumpster shall be kept free of debris. * No degradable materials shall be placed in dumpsters. * Dumping materials into the dumpster from higher elevations requires a covered chute to minimize dust. * The permit applicant is responsible for all snow and debris removal in the area surrounding the dumpster or container. * Applicant assumes all liability and holds harmless the City against all claims, damages, suits, penalties, fines and liability for injury or death to persons or loss or damage to property related to the placement of a dumpster/container in the City Right-of-Way. * Applicant shall display permit in clear view on or near the permitted dumpster or container. * Pursuant to PMC 6.12.030 all dumpsters placed withing the City shall be owned and maintained by DM Disposal.

* For Engineering questions arising in the field, please contact the Engineering Inspector at 253-405-1707. * No work shall be done in or on the public right of way without a licensed and bonded contractor first obtaining a right of way permit. * The applicant is responsible to call the Utility Notification Center at 1-800-424-5555 before beginning any excavation. Call before you dig, it's the law. * Any curb, gutter or sidewalk broken now or during construction shall be removed and replaced per City Standards. * The applicant is responsible for keeping the existing right of way free of debris and dirt. Sediment control and erosion procedures shall be implemented to prevent off site damage. * The applicant is required to have the approved permit on site at all times.
