Johnson Controls is performing a fire alarm system upgrade at MultiCare Good Sam, specifically at the Dally Tower and Forest Pavilion buildings. The scope of work involves replacing the existing serial DACT (Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter) dialers in the fire alarm control panels with a Connected Services Gateway. This new gateway will utilize IP-based communication to transmit fire alarm signals to the monitoring center, enhancing reliability and modernizing the system’s transmission method. Importantly, all other fire alarm system functionalities will remain unchanged, and no modifications to device layout or wiring are required. This upgrade is being completed under a fire permit, with confirmation of signal transmission requested by the fire marshal in lieu of formal drawings.

1- APPOINTMENT REQUIRED FOR ALL INSPECTIONS 2- PROVIDE PLANS AND PERMIT ON SITE FOR INSPECTION. 3- COMPLETE LABOR AND INDUSTRIES INSPECTIONS PRIOR TO REQUESTING CITY INSPECTION. 4- A REMOTE ANNUCIATOR LOCATED ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE IN A WEATHER PROOF HOUSING REQUIRED. 5- EXTERIOR FIRE BELL REQUIRED OUTSIDE FIRE SPRINKLER ROOM. 6- DEVICE MAPS REQUIRED AT THE ANNUNCIATOR AND FIRE ALARM PANEL PRIOR TO CALLING IN FINAL. THE ANNUNCIATOR MAP WILL NEED TO BE WEATHER PROOF. 7- TOTAL COVERAGE IS REQURED; SUBJECT TO FIELD INSPECTION. COMPLY WITH NFPA 72, 2013 8- FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE PLACARDED PER NFPA 72. THE UL CERTIFICATE SHALL BE POSTED AT TIME OF FINAL INSPECTION. THE SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE UL CERTIFIED. 9- A PRE-TEST SHALL BE CONDUCTED AND A PRINT OUT OF THE LOCATION OF THE DEVICE, POINT NUMBER AND DESCRIPTOR SHALL BE FURNISHED TO THE INSPECTOR AT FINAL. 10- FIRE SPRINKLER TAMPER VALVES AND PIV WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE TESTED AT INSPECTION. FIRE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR TO BE ONSITE. 11- THE CITY OF PUYALLUP ALLOWS ONE FACP PER BUILDING. THE PANEL WILL NEED TO BE LARGE ENOUGH TO HANDLE MULTIPLE TENTANTS IF APPLICABLE.
