The project includes a sewer main extension, and water main replacement south in 7th St SE from E Main Ave to where 7th St SE intersects with an unnamed alley. The project proposes to replace the existing water main where it current sits in the eastern portion of the road and proposes to place the proposed sewer main in the western portion of the road. This is in conflict with Puyallup City Standard no. 01.01.12. This will reduce the number of bends required in the water main, and proposes to place the proposed sewer main in the western portion of the road. This is in conflict with Puyallup City Standard no. 01.01.12. This will reduce the number of bends required in the water main, as well as reduce the number of utility crossings.

The Water Division requires 3-foot separation between new 8-inch D.I. water and existing 4-inch W.I. (steel) water. Install 45-degree bends east of tie-in point to keep 10-foot separation between water and sewer mains. Existing 8-inch water main runs south out of intersection before transitioning to 4-inch. Water work can be done out of intersection. No need for 8-inch gate valve at tie-in location.

The new 8-inch water main on 7th St SE will be shifted east to keep 3-foot separation between new 8-inch and existing 4-inch water. Keep the proposed 8-inch gate valve to the west and remove the 8-inch gate valve to the north. Maintain 3-foot separation between proposed 8-inch water and existing storm.
